This is Connie and nine of her baby chicks. We have a resident population of urban chickens in the barn, but this is by far the biggest clutch of chicks ever. Chickens in the city rarely get a second chance, which means these babies have been making the right decisions. Between feet, animal and human, cars, carriages, and even hawks, it take a special chick to grow to adulthood.Watch for updates on their progress. 

`    These are the latest  baby goats to hit the barn. Goats are not usually born in the Red Barn, but there have been 2 exceptions to the rule. Baby goats come from a farm in Adams Run and spent just a few months in the barn before they are replaced by new babies. They tame down quickly and give everyone a chance to get up close and personal. Thes 3 goats are named Billy, Ben, and Brook.
